Hi, Christine.

What's different about web copywriting (in addition to paragraphs being 
short and scannable) is search engine optimization.

You need to repeat the keywords you are optimizing for, and include 
"proximal" keywords so Google knows what kinds of search terms to show 
the page for.   There's a zillion resources about how to write SEO text, 
and lots of implications for other aspects of the website which the 
copywriter and the site developer need to collaborate on.  Read some of 
those!

Rob Laporte is a master at SEO and quite busy.  I doubt he'd be 
concerned about your competing with him, so maybe he'll chime in if he 
has the time.
