[Hidden-tech] Looking for advice about carriers for mobile phone

Whenever we have trouble with our Verizon service, we go to the Verizon
store in the Greenfield BigY shopping plaza. They've been able to deal
with our lines and plans no problem. They must have lowered their phone
support staffing because, yes, you're on hold forever.

As for service in the region, I've heard Sprint / T-Mobile doesn't have
great penetration in our area. AT&T does, but not a strong signal, or at
least it wasn't a few years back when I did a side-by-side comparison.
Verizon has always had the best signal and reach, though of course these
are the hills of western Mass.

The side by side comparison I did was about five years ago at West
County Equipment in the Greenfield industrial park. I was setting up
emails on five staffer's phones. All were iPhones, either a 5 or a 6.
One of the phones was AT&T. The rest were Verizon. The AT&T phone would
not connect to the cell network until I walked over to a window and
pressed it up against the glass. The Verizon phones had no problem
sitting on the desk in the middle of that giant corrugated metal
building. I was impressed.
