Hi, Deb, Do you have an external hard drive? If so, transferring your data should be easy. In fact, that’s where it should normally reside, and keep only your programs on the internal harddrive. If you don’t have an external drive, I think that’s the first thing you should do. You can get a 1Tb drive for less than $75, and a 4Tb drive for under $100. Staples, BestBuy, etc. If you are concerned about erasing all vestiges of personal data even after it’s been transferred off your drive and is invisible to the human eye but might be able to be recovered by a data forensics expert, that’s beyond my ken but I’m sure others will advise.
