[Hidden-tech] Got my PC today. How do I get it exchanging files with the Mac?

You cannot use a *standard* Ethernet cable between two *computers*.  You 
either need to get a special cable (whatever the Ethernet term for "null 
modem" cable is) OR you new two regular Ethernet cables and an ethernet switch 
-- your typical broadband router (wireless or not) will include a 4 port 
switch and you can use that,
