[Hidden-tech] Experience with OOMA?

You can install an Ooma app that lets you use a wireless network to make
calls over your Ooma phone. You need a premium Ooma subscription to receive
calls to a mobile device. I don't think there is a way to physically
connect a smartphone to an Ooma phone and it's kind of pointless given
smartphones are mobile devices.

We've used Ooma for about five years and it's been very reliable. Small
issues now and then with voice degradation, which might be due to using it
over our wireless network. Like all such VOIP phones, it's as reliable as
your internet connection. Connecting it directly the phone wiring in your
house is a better way to go if that's an option. Consumer Reports in the
past has given Ooma top marks. It costs us $5.35 a month (no premium plan)
and we get toll free USA dialing.
