Thanks, Shel. I kept my inquiry short because I've been practicing the art of writing short emails :) Basically, the social scientists that coined the term 'communities of practice' were asked to write a white paper on us and they liked what they learned so much that they asked to dig deeper. They suggested we turn it into a short book (trailer launched here back when we were funded by an NSF grant <http://universityinnovationfellows.org/designingforchange/>). We are looking for something that would have the design ethos of the beautiful book Make Space <https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CLZSGDU/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1> or the Leap Year Project <https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CLZSGDU/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1>, written by colleagues of mine at the Stanford d.school. I'm looking for people who have a proven track record of doing design work like this. We have lots of rich photography collected over the five years of the program. We also have a person on our team who would serve as project manager to do any remaining content revisions, gather photos reflecting the stories, etc. And we could go the self-publishing route. Target audience: academia, program managers, social scientists Price point: cover costs + any proceeds contributing to students who need scholarships to engage in our program High quality from a design standpoint, not a high-end coffee table book Interior and cover required. Thanks, all, for the responses so far. If anyone feels they're portfolio reflects what I just described, please feel free to direct message me at humera at humera.com.
