Hi, Humera, I might have a recommendation for you, but I need to know more--different designers have different strengths: - What's the specific topic. Even knowing that it's a business book isn't enough. A book on the stock market might not want the same designer as a book on injecting profitable environmental and social change into the core business (disclosure: that second one is the topic of my own 10th book, Guerrilla Marketing to Heal the World) - Who's the audience? - Do you have a sense of the price point? - What sales channels will you be using? - Where does this project fall on the price/quality continuum? - Are you looking for interior design, cover design, or both (some are better at one than the other; as an example, I've had a certain very affordable design firm do lots of covers for my clients, but I would *never* use them for an interior, even though they do them) Since 2004, a substantial portion of my consulting practice is working with writers who want to be well-published and well-marketed authors. I've recommended many different designers depending on answers to these kids of questions. --> BUT bringing in a cover designer is something that shouldn't happen until certain other things are set in stone (in some cases, choosing an interior designer might be earlier in the process). I've seen so many clients go to press with the wrong title or not understand who's going to buy and why. In the 1980s and 1990s, back before I knew what I know today, I (or my publisher) went to press a few times with books that had weak titles. In my more recent books, I spent a lot of time getting the title and subtitle right. Please also see the off-list response I'll send in a moment.
