I'm guessing the adapter you used was drawing too much power from either the Mini Display Port or the USB port. If the adapter came with a power adapter, make sure you use it. Also make sure that you have no other USB devices connected at the same time. If none of that works, then I would suggest using an Mini DisplayPort > HDMI adapter or cable, that doesn't incorporate audio. And simply use the Analog audio (headphone jack) of the laptop to get the audio. I have the HDMI cable and am using it with a Roku box. But I want to connect my MacBook to a tv at a friend’s house without Roku, Apple TV, or a Netflix account. > > My first attempt was to purchase a Mini DisplayPort+Toslink Audio to HDMI Adapter. The setup worked for a few minutes, then an error message appeared on the computer screen indicating that I should turn off the device using too much power. I don’t understand that message. > > Is there a solution to this problem? > > Thank you in advance for your help, as always. > > Chris > > Christine Polaczak > chris at cpdesignworks.com <mailto:chris at cpdesignworks.com> > 413 539-3582 > > > > > _______________________________________________ > Hidden-discuss mailing list - home page: http://www.hidden-tech.net > Hidden-discuss at lists.hidden-tech.net > > You are receiving this because you are on the Hidden-Tech Discussion list. > If you would like to change your list preferences, Go to the Members > page on the Hidden Tech Web site. > http://www.hidden-tech.net/members -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
