[Hidden-tech] Migrating (or just viewing) Exchange 2003 email folders, sub-folders, emails

I'm not volunteering to do that job, but something I've used to solve that
problem and similar ones in the past is a unix utility called "mailsync"
which is available for Linux. It's used to synchronize any two stores of
mail, and is handy when moving between email providers, and supports IMAP
and many other mail protocols - the simplest of which is plain old unix
mailbox files or maildir folders (so at worst, you could back the entire
thing up to a bunch of files / folders on some machine in a standard
plaintext format anything can read, and then work on migrating the data to
some new system separately - or run a mail server on that machine that
serves the old mailboxes).

Configuring it requires a text editor and some fortitude, and it won't be a
quick process, but I've used to to, for example, take years worth of mail
from a corporate and sync it to a GMail account.
