[Hidden-tech] monetizing Wordpress

Just to make things more fun for you, the site is currently on
WordPress.com. Unless you're planning to migrate to a self-hosted
installation of WordPress then your options are limited to whatever, if
anything, is offered from a pre-selected inventory of plugins on the
service. The good news is that if they have a PayPal button of some sort
it should work with zero coding effort.

If you plan to move to a self-hosted WordPress site, I strongly
recommend WooCommerce. I wouldn't have done so originally but knowing
the size of the inventory, I think it makes sense as far as properly
managing products and transactions. It's a large plugin that's actively
developed and supported so at least there's help out there. The big
tradeoff there is the effort to setup the cart, since it is a full
e-commerce package.

The PayPal plugins you're looking at would get you going faster once you
find the right match: no template changes, testing of the checkout
process, and more. There might even be a way to dynamically create the
sale button with a little code.

I'm curious to know what's keeping the Misiek PayPal plugin from working
in the current environment. That or one of its "competitors" seem like
the simplest option.

As a hosted service option, perhaps look into SquareSpace. I've heard
good things about ease of use and the $24/mo business plan would allow
for unlimited products. There's a free trial period and content
importer, too.

Best of luck.
