[Hidden-tech] I need a better telephone conference line/Skype questions.

My current provider has dropped a call twice in the last month, and
when the call drops before I press "stop recording," I lose the
recording too. Grrr!

I could try Google Hangouts for some calls, but that ties me to the
computer. My eyes enjoy the rest on a voice conference phone line.

So here's what I'm looking for:

* Reliability! No more being thrown off the call for no reason.
* Low price (preferably zero)
* Room for up to 5 callers for private calls and 100 callers for public ones
* Easy to record (preferably automatic as soon as the call starts, so
I don't have to worry about starting and stopping it, and so I don't
lose the whole recording if I hang up before stopping it) and
retrieve the recording
* Option to mute all but myself and a guest speaker or two

I am open to having more than one provider, e.g., there may be one
solution that's perfect for an individual client session but not so
good with 100 users on it.

On a related subject: With Skype's recent changes, is it still
possible to have a conference call, and is there a way to send a text
message over Skype when you're on a voice call with that person? Used
to be very straightforward.

Thanks, as always. This group is such a fount of knowledge.
