Perhaps it is a problem with Comcast. They stopped supporting port 110
because of "spam" and instead require you to use port 995 (SSL encryption)
to receive email and port 465 (SSL encryption) to send email. Comcast
stopped sending/receiving email until I made the change on all my devices.

And, FYI, Microsoft is no longer the Evil Empire. Google has claimed the
title.
