[Hidden-tech] Cat 5 comm cable with male connectors each end...

Hey rob,

David is right, either CAT 5, CAT 5e or CAT 6 should still work.
Maybe some more details?

You are connecting your pc's Ethernet port directly to your router's Ethernet port? (not WAN port)
I see the terms "bridge" , "point-to-point", hmmmmmmm

Is this what you have?

PC Ethernet port ----> Router Ethernet port ----> Router WAN / Internet Port ---> Cable Modem / DSL Modem ---> Internet Service Provider

Do you have another pc or cable to test this with?

Feel free to give me a call.

don

I believe Radio Shack and Best Buy sells these cables.

Also, Cat 6 cables should be 'downward' compatible, since they are wired the same (Cat 6 cable just has twice the number of twists, which means it can handle 1GBit without cross talk). If you are having problems with Cat 6 cable, either the Cat 6 cable(s) you have are bad or there is something fishy with your router or PC.
