Hey rob, David is right, either CAT 5, CAT 5e or CAT 6 should still work. Maybe some more details? You are connecting your pc's Ethernet port directly to your router's Ethernet port? (not WAN port) I see the terms "bridge" , "point-to-point", hmmmmmmm Is this what you have? PC Ethernet port ----> Router Ethernet port ----> Router WAN / Internet Port ---> Cable Modem / DSL Modem ---> Internet Service Provider Do you have another pc or cable to test this with? Feel free to give me a call. don Don Stevens TFI, Inc. I believe Radio Shack and Best Buy sells these cables. Also, Cat 6 cables should be 'downward' compatible, since they are wired the same (Cat 6 cable just has twice the number of twists, which means it can handle 1GBit without cross talk). If you are having problems with Cat 6 cable, either the Cat 6 cable(s) you have are bad or there is something fishy with your router or PC. > > > > > David > > > > <mailto:davidtoday at comcast.net> David Morf > > Partner, Senior Regional Economics Advisor, and Founding Member > > <http://aneconomyofmeaning.wordpress.com/about/> Center for Adaptive > Solutions > > 413-536-0944 direct / 413-426-6059 cell > > Learn More: <http://www.linkedin.com/in/DavidMorf> LinkedIn and > <http://aneconomyofmeaning.wordpress.com/cas-bios/#DavidMorf> CAS Bios > > Resolving Complexity, Context, Pattern-Creating Systemic Operations, > Connecting Strategy and Tactics > > * Impact & engagement - regional economic & healthcare frameworks, > social media, & the power of story analytics for transition & growth. > > * New pathways for solving intractable problems - collaborating to > adapt <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wicked_problem> Wicked Problem > practices & methods for leverage & scale. > > * Ongoing outside interest - > <http://northstarteens.org/guiding-principles/> NorthStar self-directed > learning model for teens, 135 Russell St, Rts 9 & 47, Hadley, MA 01035 > 413-582-0193 > > * Selected posts (these thoughts, even with some lapsed links, stand > as systemically on target). > > > > * > <http://aneconomyofmeaning.wordpress.com/2013/02/28/regional-hospital-innova > tion-unbundled-a-real-change-declaration/> Regional Hospital Innovation > Unbundled > > * It > <http://aneconomyofmeaning.wordpress.com/2011/10/13/it%e2%80%99s-fall-%e2%80 > %93-time-for-talking-turkey-about-healthcare%e2%80%a6/> 's Fall - Time for > Talking Turkey about Healthcare. > > * > <http://aneconomyofmeaning.wordpress.com/2011/05/29/winning-on-health-and-ec > onomics-for-real/> Winning for Real: Regional Health & Economics > > * > <http://aneconomyofmeaning.wordpress.com/2010/12/14/economic-ecology-makes-o > r-breaks-financial-systems/> You Make or Break Your World: Financial > Economic Ecology > > * > <http://aneconomyofmeaning.wordpress.com/2010/11/01/economic-systems-we-can- > eat/> Economic Systems We Can Eat > > * > <http://aneconomyofmeaning.wordpress.com/2010/10/13/financial-system-safety- > and-resilience-policy/> Roots & Remedies: Financial System Safety & > Resilience > > * > <http://aneconomyofmeaning.wordpress.com/2009/12/24/a-thought-for-the-season > -on-serendipity-from-disaster/> Serendipity from Disaster: Leverage Events > > * > <http://aneconomyofmeaning.wordpress.com/2010/04/12/operations-knit-together > -tactics-and-strategy/> Operations Knit Tactics & Strategy: Follow the Money > > > * > <http://aneconomyofmeaning.wordpress.com/2009/10/29/a-new-ally-for-systemic- > leverage/> Funding Healthcare Change: An Ally for Action > > * > <http://aneconomyofmeaning.wordpress.com/2010/01/14/oaks-from-acorns-farming > -lessons-learned-fit-healthcare/> Oaks from Acorns: Healthcare Can Learn > from Agriculture > > > > > > This email message and any attachments are confidential and may be > privileged.
