I'm appreciating this thread... Keep in mind you don't have to use Google Analytics javascript/cookies on your web site to get access to Google Webmaster Tools search engine data about your web site. They are distinct things. Not sure if this is part of what Christian was asking about. I tend to come at it from a pure site performance and server performance perspective. I wonder about tools that can both integrate the campaign and search engine profiling of Google/Bing Webmaster Tools with the raw server access data that shows all traffic to a web site. Site performance optimization and SEO can really use working together. Haven't checked out the tools recommended except for SEOmoz, which I have not found much more useful that what is available through Google/Bing webmaster tools. It can integrate those two into one report, but the value proposition of the integrated report, with the unique intelligence that SEOMoz provides was not as useful as I thought it could be. Looks like there's some others to check into too though...
