Gyepi and All,

I just came back from Austin, TX and had a chance to check out the "Tech Shop/
Hacker-Makerspaces) there. What you have put out sounds like a potential
foundation to a community workshop space.

The Austin spaces have tools like you detail, plus laser cutters, all sorts of
computer related workshop space, and other tools that are typically too
expensive or space intensive for any one person. These spaces typically manage
in cooperative membership based style... though some spaces around the country
are for-profit.
