Legacy Network Director

THE HAROLD GRINSPOON FOUNDATION seeks a Program Director for a new national initiative, the Legacy Network. The Program Director, working closely with Legacy Network National Director Gail Littman of the San Diego Jewish Community Foundation, is responsible for establishing and executing a legacy (bequest) program in Jewish communities across North America.
Modeled after the legacy program of the San Diego Jewish Community Foundation, the Legacy Network will engage central Jewish organizations in a project to help their constituent Jewish community entities (day schools, synagogues and social service organizations) secure after-lifetime gifts.
The Program Director must be able to:
·         Build and sustain relationships, provide coaching and training, develop marketing and public relations materials, and think creatively to solve problems.
·         Provide leadership in planning, staffing, and oversight for the communities.
·         Collect information, analyze, and report program results to various local and national partners in a timely manner.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
The ideal candidate will have:
·         Proven project planning experience, including budget, timeline, and resource estimating.
·         Communications expertise, especially in managing and tracking project contributions and status.
·         The ability to facilitate consensus among multiple project stakeholders.
·         Proficiency in using basic office systems (Microsoft, Excel, E-Mail, Internet, etc.).
·         Essential marketing and PR experience, including campaign management, press release writing, and creation of marketing collateral material.
·         Ability to travel.
·         Bachelor's degree or higher.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will have:
·         3-5 years of hands-on involvement in planned giving initiatives.
·         Proven experience as a nonprofit practitioner, consultant, or volunteer leader, preferably in the Jewish community.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
The preferred candidate will be:
·         Personable, energetic, flexible, and creative.
·         A leader as well as an effective team member.
·         Knowledgeable about the Jewish community.
·         Able to handle daily tasks as well as mid- to long-term planning.
