Yes, Pioneer Training does do ACT training and support. However, I haven't
been all that happy with the newest versions of ACT-the company has a higher
end product that they seem to be channeling people into. I do second
(third?) the notion to look for an off the shelf CRM product. My caveats are
to find something that doesn't require a lot of technical support to set up.
A web solution like Sugar CRM (which is open source and customizable)
requires technical help to set up, which can get pricy. Also, the web based.
Also, when it comes to adding fields and customizing for any product, err on
the side of fewer fields. You can always add more customization later. I
have seen too many people decide to capture dozens of fields of information
and then not use any of them.

I like ACT! : http://www.act.com <http://www.act.com/>  - I've used multiple
versions and it's both user friendly (one can get up to speed fairly
quickly) and has the ability to take contemporaneous notes.  I think Pioneer
Valley Training gives training/support as well, FYI

I second Rich's suggestion, and would mention salesforce.com as an option.
Many small businesses use SF when they are in the growing stage.

(if you read past his FM pitch), you really need at:

And there are many online services that can provide that - on the high end
for you is Sugarcrm.com and there are much smaller ones (see below for some
suggestions)

I would step past ' created in terms of my specs' and find one that does 80
or even 90% of what you need AND provides an export path.  

For $10-50/mon you will get what you need almost instantly and you can save
the $1000's and hours that you will spend on a db project and spend them on
building the business and filling the DB.
