[Hidden-tech] Virus, Spyware & Malware Protection

hi Susanna,
Do you have any other applications running that might have their own firewall or anti-virus? I'm thinking back to a problem I had with Yahoo Messenger, which has its own security that seems to interfere with the operating of other security systems.
I don't use LiveOne--I use Kaspersky Internet Security, which has a firewall, etc. I've had good luck with it for the past 3 years--only one hiccup that whole time. Two features I really like are how it blocks infected websites (gives a red page that tells you why the site's being blocked) and how it lets me know when it stops attacks. This way I know when something's happened.

** Be sure to fill out the survey/skills inventory in the member's area.
** If you did, we all thank you.
As I suggested to Susanne, if it is causing that many problems, I
would recommend trying a new antivirus.
That said, the Live One Care forums are a helpful place, in the years
I spent installing/supporting Live One Care I have found that they
have pretty good repair tools/help online.

Your problem is reminiscent of something I experienced about a year ago, but I can't for the life of me recall what I did to fix it. I believe my computer repair guy found a work-around online (might have entailed changing or deleting an entry in the Registry).

LiveOne Care had a problem that when I shut down the computer, on restart it said the antivirus element wasn’t implemented. Checking on the box to restart it didn’t work. Rebooting did.
