As I suggested to Susanne, if it is causing that many problems, I would recommend trying a new antivirus. That said, the Live One Care forums are a helpful place, in the years I spent installing/supporting Live One Care I have found that they have pretty good repair tools/help online. ~Kiernan Head Technician - Green Earth Computers www.greenearthcomputers.us Kiernan at gmail.com 413-282-TECH Membership Coordinator - Worlds Apart Games www.worldsapartgames.org On Tue, Mar 2, 2010 at 8:46 AM, Edbride-PR <Ed at edbride-pr.com> wrote: > ** Be sure to fill out the survey/skills inventory in the member's area. > ** If you did, we all thank you. > > > > I am still using Microsoft Windows Live OneCare without incident. I wonder if the problem is with your operating system or some missing DLL, rather than the security software. Your problem is reminiscent of something I experienced about a year ago, but I can't for the life of me recall what I did to fix it. I believe my computer repair guy found a work-around online (might have entailed changing or deleting an entry in the Registry). > > Ed > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Susanna Opper > To: hidden-discuss at lists.hidden-tech.net > Sent: Tuesday, March 02, 2010 8:09 AM > Subject: [Hidden-tech] Virus, Spyware & Malware Protection > > > ________________________________ > > Hi All, > > Love to have your input on this subject. I recently switched from Microsoft Windows LiveOne Care to their new, improved free offering Microsoft Security Essentials. LiveOne Care had a problem that when I shut down the computer, on restart it said the antivirus element wasn’t implemented. Checking on the box to restart it didn’t work. Rebooting did. > > > > Microsoft Security Essentials has the same problem only the reboot solution doesn’t work. It needs to be installed and then works fine until I turn the computer off.
