Robin, I agree with Jen. Elance and sites like it are not worth the trouble for most U.S. vendors because of price competition. You'll be hard pressed to compete with all the folks overseas who will undercut most U.S. prices. There are definitely good places to be listed online, such as Hidden-Tech of course. And don't just look for communities related to your design field, but also consider communities where your target audience will be, and where your primary referring sources will be. Get active in those communities, both in person and online. LinkedIn groups are a good online option. I'll be happy to answer LinkedIn questions. Good luck, Val _____________________________________ *Val Nelson* * Web**Flowology *Making it easy to make your mark online and beyond.* * 413.320.2182 Northampton, MA Website & Blog: www.valnelson.com Twitter: www.twitter.com/valnelson LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/valnelson On Fri, Nov 13, 2009 at 7:29 AM, Jen Kramer <jen at 4webinc.com> wrote: > ** Be sure to fill out the survey/skills inventory in the member's area. > ** If you did, we all thank you. > > > > I would politely suggest running far, far away. > > Their Joomla (web development) freelancers are mostly charging $10-$20/hr, > looking at the top 25 listings by earnings.
