[Hidden-tech] Mac or PC?

I just went through this as well. I was trying to move Lightroom and
Photoshop CS from a PC platform to Mac Leopard. Adobe said my Lightroom CD
had the Mac version on it (it did) but that they could not offer me a
no-cost cross-platform upgrade (C-PU) for Photoshop CS. Evidently, Photoshop
CS is old enough that it is unavailable for the C-PU, but I was offered a
C-PU/Version Upgrade to Photoshop CS4 for a most excellent price.

So, it may be that a CP-U is only offered for original software that is at
the current version level. But...you may want to press them on a
heavily-discounted C-PU/Version Upgrade price.

Also, if you do a C-PU, you will be asked to print, fill-out, and sign a
Letter of Destruction (LOD). This document is Adobe¹s assurance that you
have destroyed the previous old platform¹s software and/or will not
give/sell it to anyone under penalty of internal organ extraction. Just a
word of caution...I printed, filled-out, and faxed the LOD to Adobe and they
never received it. After 10 days, my ³case² was closed prematurely due to
the lack of documentation (LOD). A subsequent call reopened the case and I
was told to scan and email the LOD. This time it worked. Therefore, make
sure your LOD gets to Adobe via email NOT fax.
