[Hidden-tech] Mac or PC?

Dina:

Another vote for Mac.

I would also recommend buying a refurb--you can get a great deal and they'll
stand behind them.

I would also point out, that even if all things were equal, (which I don't
think they are) if you're used to a Mac, you'll never get used to a PC--at
least without a lot of pain and suffering.

One more story to add to the bunch: My kids' Mac mini went belly up about 6
months after the warranty was up. (I never buy Apple Care--it seems like a
rip off). I took it to the genius bar at the Holyoke store and they told me
the motherboard was fried. The "genius" suggested I call Apple and
complain--maybe they would do something. (A new board would run me basically
the cost of the computer.) I called and had to be persistent, finally
working my way up the customer support food chain, but eventually they
agreed to give me the part if I would pay for the labor. When I brought it
back to Holyoke to have the work done, it turned out they picked up the tab
for labor as well.

All my other Macs, going back about 15 years, have always worked well and I
keep them until they just plain obsolete.
