[Hidden-tech] ruggedized AMD processor speed limitation question

I'm not a hardware expert either but have tested various low power cpu's
as that can be the crux of power savings in a pc. I'm not familiar with
the geode but I can tell you the MHZ speed is far from the end-all in
comparing performance. unfortunately seeing is the best test. If you
can't do your own, try to find benchmarking tests (maybe online,
someplace like tom's hardware), if you can find your processor reviewed
they often show exactly what you're looking for: performance during
various tests, including video.

Checkout VIA processors as well, they are renowned for their low power
capabilities , and a 1ghz model ive owned played back video extremely
well, with very low wattage. I'm not aware of any systems using this
processor in the same format as the system you mention (though i havent
looked)

I took a look at their site, those are interesting computers, the flash
models will use less power, and running with wireless off (if thats an
option) will also extend battery life. Sounds like you need to get one
for testing as its a fine line between performance and conserving power.
