Up here in east-central New Hampshire, basic-basic cable is a bit more
expensive than that -- something like $18/month -- but if you let an HDTV
scan through the stations, it will come up with maybe a dozen with station
numbers above 100, which are in HD at least part of the time. For example,
New Hampshire Public Television has an HD-only channel at 113.2 with
wonderful picture quality for NOVA, travel shows, cooking shows, and some
others -- mostly a different set of offerings from their "Analog" or
"Digital" schedules.
    Maybe there are HD channels hidden in Comcast's "wicked-basic" service
in Amherst-Northampton too?
