Dan, you're correct. I've had several offers from prospective clients to have my work added... as a tax deductible contribution ... which my accountant has told me more than once...that it doesn't work that way...unfortunate but true. you can't deduct "services rendered". and also, unfortunately, deductions never equate to the amount you would be "getting paid". When people have asked if I do work for charitable or Non-profit organizations...I say "yes", ...if they can pay me... :} (just the reality of the situation).
