Hi Dave, Gotta tell ya, I'm a Former PC teacher (Porter and Chester)... used to build my own too. But I'm on my 3rd eMachine. For the Money, you can't beat em. My last one was about $300 (after rebates) for the PC, a 17" monitor, and a decent little ink jet printer. Throw an extra Hard drive and a decent video card into it, and you've got a great little workhorse for way under $500. Only 1 thing I would suggest: When you get the PC, Blow the hard drive away and reload a fresh copy of XP. eMachines fills their PCs with lots of garbage software, and it's kind of a pain to disable it all. Quality-wise, I've never had any hardware issues with them. And for the money, it's cheaper to buy a new PC every 3 years than it is to buy a new Motherboard and processor for the old one. As far as 19" LCDs, I just bought a Nice one from Best Buy, made by MAG innovision. Cost was under $200. I've only hade it a couple weeks, but so far, it's pretty good. Fast enough for PC games, clear enough for movies. Good Luck, Mike Duquette DAVID F.
