Hi all, As a place that in the past had gotten inundated with "donated" equipment that was not in working order, we had closed our doors to most donations and recycling efforts. However, we are actively negotiating with an organization that specializes in reconditioning and reallocating used equipment to offer trade-in and donation services. If you have legitimate, working condition equipment that you would be interested in donating or recycling, we may be able to handle your request in the near future. If this in fact pans out, we'd be able to handle: - Copiers - Desktop PCs, Workstations, Tablet PCs & Notebooks - Digital Cameras - Servers (Intel and non-Intel based) - Large Flat Panel Displays & Monitors - Network equipment - bridges, routers - PDAs - Printers - Dot Matrix, Laser, Line, Multi-function, Plotter, Thermal - Projectors - Storage Devices - Tape Drives, Others - Telecommunications equipment - Switches, PBXs, analog or digital PBX cards One of the biggest issues is space . . . We don't have the space to aggregate all of the donated equipment, so each trade would have to be coordinated on a case-by-case basis. I will follow-up as I have more information. Lastly, if what you have is a closet full of junk and happen to be located out in the Berkshires, Variety Trucking (Sherri - 413-684-3810) hauled monitors and PCs for disposal for a client of ours in the Berkshires in Fall of 2004. You might want to give them a try (but have your checkbook ready). Any ideas about parts/components? I have old CDROM drives, Ethernet, video, and sound cards that are not the latest, but do function. Is there any place that wants stuff like that? Where does one take broken TV's and really obsolete computers? My town tells me that they won't take the stuff, but cannot tell me who does, even for a fee. Anyone have information on donating "obsolete" computers? Do you know of any organizations/individuals that would be able to use older Macintosh notebooks/desktops? Preferably local. Would rather donate than recycle. Any info on donating computers would be helpful. Have done some research on the following websites, anything to share regarding experiences with these orgs?: www.cristina.org www.worldcomputerexchange.org www.tecschange.org sharetechnology.org Specifically, the computers to donate (so far) are: 1 Powerbook Duo 230 1 Powerbook 2400c/180 1 Macintosh Performa 6400c/180 1 Macintosh Centris 650 1 PC - a notebook: AMS Tech Travelex 105 Thanks! -- Jade Harris TnR Global LLC www.tnrglobal.com _______________________________________________ Hidden-discuss mailing list - home page: http://www.hidden-tech.net Hidden-discuss at lists.hidden-tech.net You are receiving this because you are on the Hidden-Tech Discussion list.
