Here is a trick that I use.

Go and look at the HTML code. There usually is an address to the legit 
site next to the address associated with the box you are supposed to 
click on. Often this second URL is VERY similar to the business they 
purport to be, but it will be slightly different.

Look up that URL in your browser. Often the top page comes up in a 
foreign lang. Ocassionally Chinese.
