Hi Mitch, Thanks for your email. I was literally about to buy the same drive, and now I am thinking twice about it. Sadly no solutions from me, but I have heard (or rather read in Mac magazines, even last year) that alot of external FireWire drives seem to become problematic somehow with the last Mac OSX operating system releases. I have been unsure of whether or not to buy an external for fear of this problem. Alot of the other problems I have read about mentioned total loss of data from the drive, which is unsettling. I was hoping the latest OSX releases would help, but from what you say, it hasn't. If you do come on a solution, please let me know. I am shopping for a drive and want to avoid glitches. Thanks, I wish you luck in finding a solution!
