Thanks Daniel, Gordon, Laura, Anne (and Les who responded privately) for sharing your experience with Verizon DSL vs Comcast broadband. So far my experience is not good, I ordered the service and the delivery date has been delayed (a week at a time) for over three weeks. Now I'm scheduled for a Jan 20 installation, but I'm not holding my breath...or canceling my broadband. From what I read, it seems performance is a factor of how far you are from the CO. Does anyone know how far Montague is from a CO? Since I have a free month to try it out, I'll probably let them install and test it out before making a decision. I'll look for noise on the phone line and also check the speed before keeping the service. I'll also make a couple calls to tech support during the free month to see how they respond to problems. Thanks again all for your quick responses.
