[Hidden-tech] Problems with Comcast connection

I had Comcast in Northampton for a number of years, then Charter in
Easthampton, and I've been with Verizon DSL for awhile now. I've found
their service to be more reliable than the cable services (the cable
services generally went down for short periods of time every couple of
months or so) and I was surprised to find their customer service/tech
support was fast, polite and competent when I called. They also
shipped me a combo DSL modem/wireless access point (just an .11b but
works for me!) as the default connecting device which allowed me to
sell my existing WAP since I no longer needed it. Of course, I'm just
a few blocks from the POP, so I probably get the best level of service
they offer. If you're further away from your local office you may not
have as good an experience - but I would recommend them in my area at
this point.

Hi all. I know this is about Comcast, but what about cable vs DSL.

Just wondering if anyone is using Verizon DSL? I'm still waiting to see
if it's really available on my line in Montague, but it's $25/mo
instead of Comcast for $46/mo.

Any bad experiences with DSL in this area?

Thanks,
Rick
