[Hidden-tech] Volunteer opportunity

Hi,

The turnout at last week's Hidden Tech meeting on volunteerism opportunities
prompts me to write about a cause that is near and dear to me.  I serve on
the Community Board of Jessie's House, the only emergency family shelter
serving Hampshire County.

This group's mission is to:
€  Generate financial support for the program,
€  Engage the community for the benefit of Jessie¹s House,
€  Advise and support the shelter¹s management and programs, and
€  Educate and advocate on issues related to homelessness.

Our undertakings include such things as an April 29th concert featuring
Trailer Park, Susan Angeletti and Rani Arbo & Daisy Mayhem.

We are currently seeking new members for this board. We meet once a month at
8 a.m. in at Florence Savings Bank's headquarters in Florence.  This is a
hands-on group; for instance, I am using my PR and event management skills
to help manage and publicize the April 29th concert.  As an advisory group,
this is NOT a governing board, so there is no heavy duty  decision-making
about personnel hires/fires, the  budget or shelter policies.

If you care about the issue of homelessness and want to make a difference,
this is the place for you. No prior board experience is necessary...just a
caring heart a willingness to pitch in and do what needs to be done.
