[Hidden-tech] Seeking Advice on Creating a Community List-Serv

Hi Lindsey,
comments at 2 levels;
1st off, this is not a list-serv, which is a specific service, which
this is not, although
that term has become like xerox, a general term.

This list runs on Mailman, on a Amazon server that I support
(donations welcome, which I normally remain all at the beginning of the
year,
which I didn't get to yet - will do that this week)
I've considered but unlikely will offer for other local groups.

2) That you want is called a discussion group - as opposed to a
marketing mailing list
like Mailchimp or Constant Contact - or many others.
Quite a bit here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mailing_list

I recently had a need for a list I wasn't primary for and picked a
google group,
you can see more about that at: https://groups.google.com/

You have a gmail account so you can go and create your own group.
The only down side of this is any non-google email must be invited it,
which is proper protocol anyway, but does often get one caught up in
reminding
people to check their spam folders (darn things).

Email me directly if you can use more help.

Good luck
Rich - listmaster HT
