[Hidden-tech] What to do with DVD-R

Wondering: are these double layer? Or BluRay disks?

Note: "DVD-R" is somewhat ambigious: there are a number of *different* disk
formats: DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-ROM. plus some additional options. Not all are the
same and not all devices handle all formats. ALSO: there are *region* codes,
including region 0 (no/any region) for *video* content. Devices are *supposed*
to handle Region 0, but some Region 1 (US) players won't play Region 0 [this
is a bug]. *Linux* DVD players ignore the region code (Linux's Open Source
players generally just "give the finger" to the Motion Picture Suits and get
away with that since the suits lost the court battle involved).
