[Hidden-tech] Need help transferring data from old laptop to new

easy answer - get PCmover from LapLink.com - they have been doing this 
since the early 80s and do a pretty good job.

If, by your description, the older one was a 2019 think pad, I'd try to 
get the keyboard fixed first.
I've used them for years and only replaced them when totally dead - then 
I just removed the memory stick into a USB case and
copied what I needed as I needed it.

disclaimer: they were my competitor with my MacLink product - which I 
sold out to company of development partners and has since vanished.
They really worked to make this an on-going product.
