Yes.  You do have to enable it in the Photos App.  (There might be a fee if 
you more than some amount of storage.)

It is also possible to access the photos via the web (eg on a laptop or 
desktop computer).  Handy way of getting the photo from your phone into, say, 
PhotoShop or GIMP or to upload to you website, etc.
