I’m embarrassed to say that the port next to the HDMI slot is probably an Ethernet port. But I think with some alternative placing of HDMI cables, I might be able to work around this without using the Ethernet connection to the soundbar. This was standard a few years ago. I was lucky and happened to have both an Apple TV and a sound bar of the correct generation and used the optical cable to connect them to each other. I suspect that you may have to replace whichever of your devices is older in order to get to the current technology. <https://thehometheaterdiy.com/soundbar-hdmi-vs-optical/> Soundbar HDMI vs Optical: Which Is Better and Why? Video is great, but I’m flummoxed at getting the audio to my external soundbar. HDMI takes everything to the monitor (LG), not a smart TV so I’ve got the AppleTV box. How do I get the audio to the sound bar? I don’t recognize the square-ish port that suggests a connector.
