I wonder if you are looking at an optical connector. This was standard a few years ago. I was lucky and happened to have both an Apple TV and a sound bar of the correct generation and used the optical cable to connect them to each other. I suspect that you may have to replace whichever of your devices is older in order to get to the current technology.
