This sounds to me like some kind of firewall or DNS cache problem on the computer that you can't login from. You did not specify the operating system, but for Windows I would start by flushing the DNS cache (ipfconfig /flushdns). No doubt someone here can tell you how to do the same thing on a Mac. If that doesn't work, you should start looking through your firewall settings, which will depend on the OS and firewall system used.
