In the WordPress world I think bbPress (forums) would be easier to ramp up than BuddyPress, which tries to make WP into a more elaborate social platform. I think a forum would let people request or offer help where replies would establish the match. There's potential for general discussion and information sharing as well. For the next iteration, WP has a lot of potential.
