[Hidden-tech] Web Hosting Providers

Have to say I had a site with Siteground and I was not at all happy with
their bait-and-switch pricing. The second year was around 3x as much as the
first year and I switched out. That site was troublesome in ways that I
don't think were Siteground's fault, and I ended up closing it.

I know they are considered the big bad wolf (or big bad alligator ;-) )of
hosting, but I have been quite happy with Hostgator, which hosts about ten
sites for me all within a single "baby" account. To the server, they are
kind of like subdomains, but to the visitor, they look like separate sites.
Once you get a tech support person on chat (time has varied from instant to
20 minutes or so), they generally know what they are doing and solve the
problem--including the occasional security breach. Down times have been
present, but minimal. And if you don't mind sharing your server, they are
very inexpensive.
