Hi Deb,

I have family and a lot of friends who are EMF sensitive and I believe
they are the canaries in the coal mine in terms of our EMF exposure. I
am worried about 5G as well.

Starlink doesn't use 5G, which is in the 3.5-4.2 GHz range; it uses a
number of frequencies that are normally used for satellite communication
- 10.7-12.7 GHz, 13.85-14.5 GHz, 17.8-18.6 GHz, 18.8-19.3 GHz, 27.5-29.1
GHz, and 29.5-30 GHz bands. There are a few reasons why Starlink doesn't
have anywhere near the potential for damage as 5G.

5G is a somewhat higher frequency than 4G (2-8GHz) and 3G (1.8-2.5GHz).
The higher the frequency, the more energy is needed to penetrate
structures like buildings and the more it needs to be line of site.
Because of this, and because they're carrying a lot more information,
they need a lot more antennae with a total higher energy than 3G or 4G
which means a lot more exposure of the population to EMF.

Because Starlink is just sending radio waves to and from a receiver
exposed to the sky and it doesn't need to penetrate buildings, the
amount of energy needed is far lower. Also, Starlink uses a phased array
antenna which uses a narrow beam that is targeted between the antennae,
not omnidirectional like cell phones, radios, TV, etc. so the amount of
EMF received drops off pretty quickly as you get farther from the antenna.
