When a PDF is exported, there actually are security settings to NOT allow copying of text, images, etc.

However, if someone really wants to get at a PDF, there are software tools that allow you to easily break a locked PDF.

Fred,

It's just a file, which can be copied, renamed, emailed, etc. The only thing you can do is password protect it for opening.

If you don't want people to be able to copy and paste the text you'll have to make the PDF a series of scanned images instead of text based.

We have a client who wants to sell her book as a PDF. Is anyone aware of a way to copy-protect the PDF that it can't be shared or duplicated? I assume there's a way to do this, but am not aware of one.

Thanks,
Fred
