Yes now charges $79 to take a look, and they won’t refund for not being able to diagnose it. 

 

I used to take everything to the Apple Store, then I stopped after I brought in my daughter’s laptop and they wanted $600 for a new logic board, or whatever, I took it down the street to Dancer, and he fixed it for $50. What a huge loss that he’s no longer around!

Last time Yes had a computer of mine and couldn't manage to get any data off a crashed harddrive, they expected me to pay their $69. (I think it was) intake fee anyway.

I paid it.

 

Then, I brought the computer over to Core Solutions Group and they were able to retrieve about 95% of my data, and charged me a very reasonable fee. 

 

I went back to Yes, and asked Mark for my money back, and told him Core succeeded in doing the work. Mark started to refuse, and was so completely unethical in what he said to me then, but I told him I wasn't leaving until I got my money back. After about an hour, he handed me a check. I have not stepped foot in his shop ever since. And that was back when he was still on Main Street.
