Hi John, Apple is phasing out support for 32 bit applications. Adobe has dropped support for all CS4 apps. MacOS is now at version 10.15 (Catalina). CS4 apps were designed to run on versions 10.5.8 or 10.6. You could try rolling back your OS. Hopefully you made a full backup on Time Machine before you did the upgrade. If not, you might be out of luck. As of High Sierra, MacOS uses a new case sensitive file system called APFS. So you can’t just reinstall an older OS because your hard drive has been reformatted to APFS. - Erik 15 Lincoln Street Greenfield, MA 01301 (413) 376-5947 Twitter: @hungryghostdev <https://twitter.com/hungryghostdev> Facebook: hungryghostweb <https://www.facebook.com/hungryghostweb> Website: www.hungryghostconsulting.com <https://hungryghostconsulting.com/> LinkedIn Profile: erikjonsberg <https://www.linkedin.com/in/erikjonsberg> > On Nov 8, 2019, at 4:42 PM, Jonathan Mirin via Hidden-discuss <hidden-discuss at lists.hidden-tech.net> wrote: > > Dear Hidden-Techers, > After updating to the mojave OS, I have been unable to use certain software (notably indesign and final cut pro). I am considering "downgrading" to a previous operating system so that I can continue to use these programs without re-buying them or starting a monthly subscription. Does anyone have experience with this or have a recommendation for which OS to revert back to? Other workarounds? Our version of indesign is CS4 (2009) and works fine for our needs. > thanks, Jon > Jonathan Mirin / Godeliève Richard > Piti Théâtre Company <http://www.ptco.org/> > +1 (508) 439-2069 > > > > > <https://www.facebook.com/pititheatre> > > > <http://www.ptco.org/beeweek> > <http://www.ptco.org/beeweek> > _______________________________________________ > Hidden-discuss mailing list - home page: http://www.hidden-tech.net > Hidden-discuss at lists.hidden-tech.net > > You are receiving this because you are on the Hidden-Tech Discussion list. > If you would like to change your list preferences, Go to the Members > page on the Hidden Tech Web site. > http://www.hidden-tech.net/members -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
