Hidden Techiess: I am still struck by how committed everyone on this list is to educating the next generation, given all the long replies from so many people. Thank you! Next year, my partner teacher, who teaches HTML, CSS and some Javascript (along with Programming Principles, for which he uses Visual Basic but I think we'll use Scratch or something else for) is retiring. If you don't mind commuting to Palmer (1 hour from Greenfield, and we could rideshare), there are two things that make this job different than any other teaching position, for someone who has done web development: 1. You don't need a current teaching license, just be on the road to get one (e.g. put down a $25 downpayment and have a path forward) 2. You get paid for the years you spent in the field - which means a much higher salary than you could command elsewhere. I won't share what I'm making, at the top of the scale, unless you email me privately ... but it's much more than I ever imagined a teacher could make. SO: If you love seeing kids learn and get excited by that, you could work with me a little on the new curriculum and then have that as an added reason for them to hire you when they start advertising. Nuff said. -Bram -- Martin Bram Moreinis, Designer/Developer http://myinstructionaldesigns.com (413) 829-0355 -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
