Here’s my story of domain expiration: I had a website for a project (about family businesses that manufacture in the US) that I was done with, and let it lapse, with Go Daddy- then I see it up and running, using a chopped up bunch of my data, but also selling dog food (not kidding). I contacted the new owner, hoping to have a reasonable discussion, and find out why madeinusabyfamilybusiness.com was a good URL for his product, and try to talk him out of it, but at least stop using my content in some weird way. His response: “Go fuck yourself, asshole” I replied that there was no need for his anger and obscenity, I am the aggrieved party, not him; and all I want is to have an adult conversation. He calmed down, and in much more professional and restrained language, told me to go fuck myself. I haven’t looked at it for a while, until 5 minutes ago- and see that it is now “parked for free, courtesy of go daddy” whatever that means. Next time I let a url go I need to wipe it clean first. But I guess the person could go to wayback machine and repost the content. Odd Ira Bryck Ira Bryck Family Business Center of Pioneer Valley 447 West Street, Amherst, MA 01002 fambizpv.com 413 835 0810
