[Hidden-tech] alternatives to Quick Books?

This is an interesting conversation that comes up at least once a year. I think the solution for each business/individual will be based on a number of things - namely

1) how many transactions they are dealing with monthly
2) the person handling the books accounting knowledge - this is the main reason that bookkeepers don’t like QB online - the functionality is limited compared to desktop version
3) how the software is being used -is payroll/invoicing/accruals a factor…
4) how many individuals need access to the software

The ideal solution will be one that the person managing the books finds easy to use and will enable them to enter the information in a timely and accurate fashion! That way, reporting can be run out of the system that will help make better business decisions.
