[Hidden-tech] Accessible software for demo videos

Mac Quicktime, which comes with Macs free, has great screen capture video with voice recording while one does stuff on the screen. Makes rather big files, but another recent thread in Hidden-Tech broached compressing video files. I believe Youtube does such compression well. Not sure if PCs have an equivalent free software package.
