[Hidden-tech] iPhone 5 advice needed

Ditto on the touch sensing may still work.  You can probably look at
another phone's screen to figure out where to tap.

Or, if the photos are important enough, a screen repair/replace may fix
it if the phone itself is still working.  There are many non-Apple store
places you could get screens repaired, probably around $100.
